Accord Housing has won European funding for a project which will see the creation of 12 virtually plastic-free homes.
The European project CHARM (Circular Housing Asset Renovation & Management) is a partnership with academic and social housing organisations in the UK, Belgium, France and the Netherlands.
A major issue facing Accord in meeting the plastic-free objective is finding and sourcing a (virtually) plastic-free electrical insulator which can be used in the wiring of the new homes.
It is therefore launching an industry challenge to find suitable, new and innovative solutions, products and suppliers.
So if you’re in the business of making domestic wiring and are working on developing a plastic free solution, this could be a great opportunity to get your product recognised.
Accord are looking to be able to specify wiring for their 12 homes by the end of March 2020.
If you think your business can help then you can find out more about the challenge via the Marches LEP website;
