The £200 million Southwater Development is set to transform an area of Telford Town Centre which runs from the Shopping Centre down to The International Centre – creating a definitive high street with a new Southwater Square and incorporating linkages to the Town Park.

Delivering the development of the Southwater area is a key objective for both Telford & Wrekin Council and Southwater Event Group. The Council’s vision for the specific area includes:

  • A vibrant and sustainable heart for Telford Town Centre – including a night time economy
  • Improved cultural, leisure, event facilities, new homes, offices and retail
  • High quality buildings and public realm will transform the image of Telford
  • Attract new jobs, new opportunities and inward investment
  • A place in which people will want to work, live, visit and enjoy
  • A place to be proud of
