Oakengates Town Partnership has now been officially launched and marks the first step in the regeneration of the borough town.
Telford & Wrekin Council has pledged to spend £500,000 on regenerating Oakengates in line with residents' wishes, as part of its Borough Towns Initiative.
The new Oakengates Town Partnership will be made up of people with a passion for Oakengates and seeing it transformed into a modern market town.
Projects in progress:
- Urban designer David Orr is working with members of the public and other relevant parties to create a masterplan for the future of the town.
- Two town events will be held to feedback ideas for the future of Oakengates.
Projects completed:
- New Oakengates Town Partnership launched
- A number of workshops and walkabouts have been held with residents to ask for their views on the town.
- Workshops have been held with young people to engage them in the development of their town.
