Our specialist Construction Team plays a major role in Martineau's Real Estate practice, establishing an integrated service to clients covering land acquisition, reclamation, planning, environmental, funding, development and dispute resolution. Our integrated approach and culture of teamwork is recognised by our growing list of clients.

The Construction Team works closely with out other Real Estate teams in advising our clients on:

• all forms of building contracts. Including the form of procurement to be used (traditional, design and build, management contracting etc) and the particular form of contract or appointment be this a ‘standard form’ or a bespoke form of contract;

• partnering and framework agreements working closely with our specialist public procurement lawyers

• pre-construction services agreements

• professional consultant appointments including forms of novation where the design team is to be transferred over to the design and build contractor.

We frequently deal with the various standard forms and are experienced in dealing with complex bespoke documents for various types of project;

• specialist forms of sub-contract agreements.

The team also advises in respect of more specialist building contracts such as PFI/PPP transactions together with projects procured on the basis of a Guaranteed Maximum Price. We have also advised on a variety of large civil engineering projects ranging from flood alleviation and landfill schemes to light rail infrastructure projects.
